Spareloop

Spareloop
A specialized marketplace for electronic spare parts & accessories
Project Overview
Spareloop is a niche e-commerce marketplace that enables sellers to list electronic spare parts and accessories and buyers to easily find, compare, and purchase the right components.
Unlike general marketplaces, Spareloop focuses only on spare parts, reducing confusion, mismatches, and trust issues common in electronics purchasing.
Platform: Web (Buyer + Seller Dashboards)

Research & Insights
Competitive UX Analysis
I analyzed large marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, local spare-part sellers) and identified key gaps:
Observed Issues:
Spare parts buried among full products
Inconsistent product information
Complex seller dashboards not built for small vendors
📌 Key Insight:
Users don’t want more options -> they want accurate, compatible, and trusted parts quickly.
UX Strategy & Problem Solving
1.Marketplace Focus: Only Spare Parts
Problem: Buyers struggled to filter spare parts in general marketplaces
Solution:
Designed Spareloop as a dedicated spare-parts marketplace
Clear categorization by device type and accessory
Result: Faster product discovery and fewer incorrect purchases
2.Buyer Experience Design
Buyer Homepage
Clear value proposition at the top
Highlighted popular categories (screens, batteries, cases, parts)
Deal sections to encourage exploration
Product Page
Structured specifications
Compatibility details
Clear pricing and availability
Trust signals (ratings, reviews, seller info)
Result: Reduced confusion and improved decision-making
3.Seller Dashboard & Admin Panel
Problem: Sellers lacked tools to manage listings and track orders
Solution:
Designed a seller admin panel with:
Product listing management
Order tracking dashboard
Inventory visibility
Status indicators for orders and listings
📌 Focused on:
Clear tables
Status tags
Minimal cognitive load
✅ Result: Sellers could manage operations without technical expertise
4.Simplified Product Listing Flow
Problem: Listing spare parts required technical accuracy
Solution:
Step-by-step product listing flow
Mandatory fields for compatibility and condition
Validation to reduce incorrect listings
Result: Higher listing quality and fewer buyer complaints
5.System Thinking Across Buyer & Seller
A major design challenge was ensuring:
Seller actions directly reflect on buyer experience
Inventory updates sync across both dashboards
📌 This required strong information architecture and clear system rules.
Outcome & Impact
Created a focused niche marketplace solving a real user problem
Reduced spare-part discovery time for buyers
Enabled sellers to manage operations efficiently
Designed a scalable system supporting both sides of the marketplace
